Bad Turned Good!

An emergency appendectomy is not a good thing, however, it did allow me to get back into my stamp room to have some fun.  I revived my mojo thanks to Pinterest.  If these cards were cased from you, thanks!  Your work was worthy of repeating.

Many of these were made using the set Modern Basics by PTI.  I also used Leaf Prints from PTI.  The card with the stitched swirls is also from PTI.  It was wonderful using my PTI investment again!!!  Thanks for looking!

A Dream Come True!

Anonymous, this is for you!  I think this was one of the hardest cards I have ever made.  It has been sooooooo long since I made a card and I can not find ANYTHING!  Hopefully I can remedy this problem over the summer.  Enjoy!

Another Thank You and a HB Card

I paused my Thank You note marathon to make a card for my brother. He is coming next week so I wanted to have his card ready to give him. Avoid the USPS! :)

I really like this TY card with the Ocean Tides and Aqua Mist card stock.

Well, I have 6 more TY notes to make so I will be back!

Thanks for looking.

Thank You Cards

When a friend needed some thank you notes she asked me to help her. I am having a blast making these cards. Please excuse the horrible photography.

I am thoroughly enjoying the color combo of Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian Shores from PTI.

For motivation on most of these cards, I opened the June 2011 CARDS Mag.

You may also notice lots of DP from the PTI Funky Town. This paper is amazing!!! Of course, it is nice that it has my favorite colors in it.

Well, I have a few more to post so.... See ya!

Papertrey Princess Challenge

Hello, Princess friends!

I will be adding my card when I get home from work but I thought I would go ahead and post the challenge.

Hubby and I will be leaving soon for our 30th anniversary celebration on the beautiful Island Hawaii. The challenge is to make a card with an aloha feel or use Hawaiian colors on your card.

I used Hawaiian Shores ink along with Raspberry Fizz, my favorite color combo. Have fun and enjoy Hawaii with me!

Aloha!

5 Ways Challenge: Rosie Posie

Howdy! Long time no see. I seem to have to kick start myself with a challenge to get me motivated.

This time my challenge is called, 5 Way Challenge. I am challenging myself to use an unloved or uninked stamp set to make 5 different cards with the same stamp set.

The first set I chose is Rosie Posie from PTI. I have only had this set for less than a month so it hasn't gathered too much dust.

As you can see each of these cards is quite unique. Some of them are CASEs, others are actually my own ideas. I'm sure you can tell which is which. ;)

Enjoy!!!

It's That Time Again

I love making Christmas cards! What better inspiration than getting the newest PaperCrafts Holiday magazine and having fun. We went out of town last weekend and I took a new pack of sticky tabs. Well, the inspiration was so great that I used most of the stickies marking all of the cards I wanted to make when I got home.

Here are the first four. I can take no credit for coming up with the inspiration on these cards. Some of them are exact CASEs and others are a variation because I didn't have the same papers, stamps, or doodads.

Thanks, PaperCrafts, for helping me get started on
my Christmas cards!!! Hopefully I can get 4 more
made this next week.

Princess Challenge Card

Hi, remember me?
With minimum crafting time I needed to double up on a couple of challenges. This card is for Leigh's Challenge to use at least 2 different patterned papers and Dianne's Challenge to use red on a card. It was a lot of fun to get inky again! Thanks, ladies, for these great challenges!

Princess Challenge: Make a card, Give a card

Leah posted the most amazing Princess Challenge! She asked us to make a card and actually give it to someone! Wow! This worked out great since I needed to make a card to take to a wedding reception today. Here is the card I made using Beautiful Blessings (first time seeing ink :)), Simple Valentine, and Big & Bold Wishes.

Best wishes Joshua and Krista!

Princess Challenge- Flower Outline

Welcome to our next PaperTrey Princess Challenge. For this challenge I would like to see come cards using just the outline of flowers. I am an awful colorer so every time Nichole makes a card using an uncolored flower I think there might be hope for me.

I needed a sympathy card for the church bookstore so I combined the two.

I hope you enjoy this simple yet classy challenge!

Grad Cards

Happy Graduation!

I had an order for 4 grad cards so I needed to make them on my first day off of school. What a pity! Not! It was so great to be crafting! I actually did get a bunch of laundry done too!

Most of these cards were inspired by cards I found in the SCS Gallery. The Raspberry Fizz card was made off of a card in the Sketches4you app on my iPad. Love that app!

Enjoy~

Masculine Grad

A quick masculine grad card using For the Graduate and Framed.

Figured I'd best get the grad cards ready for DH that he will need while I am out of town.

Hello, Do you remember me?

Wow, it has been a long while since I posted! School is now over, DS#2 is married, my mom will be moving here in 2 weeks, and all is well. Yes, I have been busy dealing with life, but it is good to be back in the crafty room!

First up is my mom's Mother's Day card. I actually made it a year ago. it took FOREVER for the white ink to dry so I wasn't able to send it to her last year. It was a good thing to have it ready this year because I certainly didn't have time to make one.

Next are two cards that needed to be made. The first one is for a friend to give to another friend for their 50th. I CASED this card from the SCS gallery. I really liked this card by Stampinspooky. The second card is a grad card that I made by using a sketch from the Sketches4cards app that I put on my iPad. WOW! So much inspiration in one little app!

Well, thanks for stopping by and I will try not to take so long to post next time!

Smile and Ahoy "Princess Challenge"

The Princess Challenge this time around is to use stripes. Well.....

I received this adorable "Ducky" card from a dear friend of mine! It really did make me smile. Well, I needed a card for a baby shower so I CASEd her design.

I didn't have any striped DP so I made my own using Distressed Stripes and Versamark on Spring Rain Cardstock. The sailboats and sentiment are from Bitty Baby Blessing.

Thanks, my friend, for the inspiration!

Feb. Goal cards 6 & 7

Still working through my February challenge. I didn't make it by the March 15th deadline but I won't open my PTI package until I have made all 10 cards, I PROMISE! lol!

These cards were made using Fancy Flourishes and Pond Life. The stamping on Hoppy Birthday is horrible as DS#4 reminded me about 3 minutes before we left for school that he needed a card for his friend. So, stamp fast, snap a pic, and run out the door.

Thanks for looking! I should be able to get cards 8-10 done tomorrow as hubby will be gone most of the day.

Princess Challenge- Frame but No Sentiment- Feb. #5

When Leah posted the challenge to not use a sentiment, I was a little worried. Put that with a frame and it makes things really interesting.

Well, I think this turned out quite nice. Bird Watching was one of my sets I wanted to use this month so these birdhouses were a perfect fit.

Thanks for looking!

Princess Technique & Feb Goal post #4

In February, Princess Joyce posted a Technique Challenge. The technique I used with my Honey Bee set was stitching. I have a "honeycomb" stitch on my machine that I thought went really well with the honeycomb background that I made with one of the stamps in the set.

Thanks, Joyce!

Princess Challenge- Holiday & February Goal post #3

WooHoo! I'm up to the February Princess Challenge by Belinda! Belinda challenged us to make a card celebrating a fun holiday. When you live in MN, SPRING is a fun holiday worth celebrating!

I used the Mailbox Greetings stamp set from my Feb. challenge sets to make this springy card.

Princess Challenge- Punch It! February Goal- Post #2

Long time no post! Life has a way of happening so card making and challenges have had to take a back seat. Now that the 15th of March is almost here and I see LOTS of things I would like from the release, I need to get a move on!

Back in January, Mara posted a Punch It Princess Challenge. I don't have any punches so I had to use a die. This also uses the Flower Garden stamp set that is part of my pre-March release challenge.

Off to see if I can make any more progress on my challenges.

February Goal: Post #1

Here is my first card for my February goal of using 10 specific stamp sets before the March PTI release. This card uses Wise Owl, along with the tree from Merry Little Christmas, and the sentiment from Tiny Treats: Valentine.

I just received the twine in the mail from a bulk buy. Oh, the colors are luscious! (Thanks, Shannon)

Well, off to see if I can work on another card...

2011 Crafting Goals- February

Just like in January, I am going to pick 10 stamp sets in my stash that haven't been used in a while and see if I can use them all before the next PTI release. So, I have until March 15th to use:

1. Honey Bees X
2. Bird Watching X
3. Fancy Flourishes X
4. Scattered Showers X
5. Wise Owl X
6. Pond Life X
7. Flower Garden X
8. Boxes Bags and Tags
9. Just for You
10. Mailbox Greetings X

If I can use them all, I will be able to purchase at the March PTI release.

January Goals, Complete!

Well. I have no picture to share because I procrastinated and didn't finish my class valentines in time to snap a pic. But, trust me, they are done and I did use the last of my January goal stamp sets, Tiny Treats: Valentine. I have no money, but if I did, I could purchase at the wonderful February PTI release with a clear conscience!!! :)

I also used the Lunchbox Note Die. WOW! I really like that die. I will use it many times over!!!

Now, I need to formulate my February stamp set goal.

January Goals: Post #6

This card uses Butterfly Dreams and Inside & Out: Thank You. The BG paper is Friends to the End. I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

I only have one more set to use and that will wait until I get what I need to make the Valentine cards for my kiddos at school.

January Goals: Post #5 & Princess Challenge

My January Goal to use 10 selected sets is going well. This card uses Birthday Bash Sentiments. Also, Mariah posted the PaperTrey Princess challenge to go vertical. I turned the die cut vertical instead of horizontal. Not sure why I always tend to go across instead of up and down. I'm liking this!

January Goals: Post #4

Thanks to all of you for the "CASE'ing OK. I actually did come up with this design all on my own. :D This card uses Asian Fusion. I am so glad to have learned that clear rhinestones can be colored any color you wish with Copics.

Woohoo! I'm getting through my list.

January Goals: Post #3

Dear me, another CASE but what do you do when you really like what someone else has done? Thanks, Debbie, for the idea for this card. Debbie did a much better job than I did but I like it just the same.

Can I do another???

January Goals: Post #2

WooHoo! On a roll! This card uses the It's Official set from my list. I pretty much CASED it from this post by Nichole. I love the way she did the "wooden" ruler. It looks soooooo real. I figure this card would be perfect to either give to a teacher or receive from a teacher. Oh, I LOVE that ruler!!!

Yes, I purchased this set because of the ruler. ;)

January Goals: Post #1

It is already the 15th of January! About time I got started on my personal challenge to use 10 of my sets.

I was able to use three of the sets I chose on these two cards. I used Boards and Beams, Signature Christmas, and Holiday Button Bits. I love the snowman on the snowy slopes.

Off to see if I can work on my challenge some more.

2011 Crafting Goals- January

Sorry for the weird post yesterday! I was on my iPad hoping to make an entry and it just didn't work!

Okay, Crafting Goal for 2011

I am challenging myself to use 10 different stamp sets each month. On the 1st of each month, or close to it, I will post the 10 stamp sets I aim to use. I have 4 drawers FULL of stamps and I NEED to use what I have. My incentive, if I meet my goal, I will be able to purchase something from the PTI release on the 15th of the next month. If I don't use what I have, I NEED no more.

So here we go:
January 2011 Stamp Sets
1. Holiday Button Bits x
2. Tiny Treats Valentine x
3. Boards and Beams x
4. Signature Christmas x
5. It's Official x
6. All Booked Up x
7. Asian Fusion x
8. Birthday Bash x
9. Inside-Out Thank You x
10.Butterfly Dreams x

Hopefully I can get started today! I need to get somethings ready for school, work on laundry and whole house rescue. Then, maybe, I will get to my stamp room. One can hope!

November 2010 PTI Blog Hop

Happy Thanksgiving Day and Happy Blog Hop!

The Blog Hop Challenge was to make holiday tags. How FUN! I had plans of making a whole lot more, but....

These are all made with Tag Sale 1&2 dies and I used images from PTI's 2008 Holiday Tag Collection.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

PaperTrey Princess Challenge: Merry and Bright

Now that Thanksgiving is here we can focus on Christmas. Your challenge is to make a card that is "merry and bright" thanks to glitter! The Nov/Dec issue of Paper Crafts Mag features some great ideas for using glitter thanks to Jessica Witty. All of the cards are gorgeous! This card is one that I pretty much CASEd from one of her cards.

You make the stripes by using different widths of double sided tape. Peel off the paper one strip at a time and cover with glitter.

This card was tons of fun and I look forward to getting sparkly all over again!

When you make your "merry and Bright" card, make sure you post a link to your blog on the "Official PaperTrey Princesses" thread.

See you soon!

PaperTrey Princesses Challenge- Recycle

BethieJ issued the challenge to alter something that we would normally throw away. I finished up a can of cashews so that is the can that I used. This was a lot of fun! I used PP from my stash and the PTI stamp set, School Time. Not exactly sure what I will put in my altered can but I'm sure I will find something. As a teacher I can always find something to contain.

Thanks for stopping by for a look-see!

Next Princess Challenge will be on Thursday and I am the hostess. I am excited!!!
